Created for Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung, this project involved producing a series of five videos exploring the scope of energy transition in India. The series highlights key policies, innovations, and challenges shaping India’s shift toward sustainable energy. I was responsible for visual development, research, motion graphics and video editing.

  • The project set out to shift perceptions of energy transition communication – moving it from a dense, data-heavy discourse into an accessible, emotionally resonant narrative that connects policy, people, and the planet. By weaving together data visualization, collage-based motion graphics, and expressive illustration, the goal was to humanize complex energy concepts and make them relatable to diverse audiences. Across five modules – What is Energy Transition?, Energy Transition: The Indian Perspective, Sectoral Actions for Energy Transition, Just Energy Transition, and Women and Energy Transition – the series translates intricate research into engaging visual stories. Ultimately, the project aims to help viewers not only understand the mechanisms behind the energy transition but also recognize its social dimensions and the human agency driving it forward.

  • I chose a collage-based motion design style, layering hand-drawn illustrations with cut-out real-world images to mirror the duality of nature and human innovation. This tactile aesthetic not only made the content more relatable but also reflected the essence of Biomimicry - the fusion of natural wisdom with human creativity. Narrative sequencing, animation timing, and environment-inspired sound effects were carefully crafted to guide viewers through each principle of Biomimicry in an intuitive and engaging way.

  • I was responsible for concept development, visual design, scripting, animation, and storytelling. From initial research and scripting to creating custom illustrations and executing the final motion piece, I handled every stage of the creative process.

  • The videos explored two key timelines: current drawbacks and environmental impacts of using fossil fuels, and the opportunities offered by adopting green energy. We used shades of magenta and green to visually distinguish the two themes, respectively. A constant feedback loop viaMiro took place between the client and me during the storyboard stage to refine the visual approach and narrative flow before I began working on the final videos.
