This projection mapping piece draws inspiration from the work of Stasys Eidrigevičius – a renowned Lithuanian painter and graphic artist known for his surreal, poetic, and symbolic visual language. Often referred to simply as Stasys, his distinctive style blends dreamlike imagery with deeply expressive figures, exploring the quiet tension between memory and emotion.
Reinterpreting one of his paintings through frame-by-frame animation, the installation seeks to bring Stasys’s world to life in motion. Developed for Syphon Tripper’s horror-themed event, the piece uses MadMapper to project onto the venue’s roof, creating the illusion of a painting emerging from the walls.
Designed for an audience seated on the floor and looking upward, the work invites viewers to be enveloped by the space – as if momentarily stepping inside Stasys’s haunting, surreal universe.
